Eugenia Castro

I am a member of the Australian Psychology Board of Australia, the Australian Psychological Society, a member the College of Counselling Psychologists. A member of the Australian Society of Hypnosis.

I have over eighteen years experience in the area of psychology, counselling and supervision. I work in both the community health and private sector.

I am interested in supporting client(s) and supervisee(s) in the processes of change, reflection, creativity and growth by applying art therapy principles.

Counselling services:

I bring to my counselling psychologist role, a broad range of skills and knowledge in the provision of assessment and counselling to individuals, couples and families.

Supervision (individual and group):

I offer excellent skills, knowledge and experience in the provision clinical supervision, training, mentoring and coaching of leadership.

Framework and underpinning theories:

My counselling and supervision framework is based on a psycho-social model of empowerment that integrates different theoretical approaches. These include Brief Solution Oriented Strategies, Single Session Therapy, Family Therapy, Solution Focussed, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Approach, Art Therapy, CBT principles and Hypnosis.

Specific supervision models include: developmental, isomorphic, interpersonal process recall, after action review, interactive, phenomenological, creative narrative through art and poetry.

Social Justice:

I work from a Cross-Cultural counselling model that focuses on minority groups relating to: age, disability, religion, ethnicity, social status, sexuality, nationality, and gender.

Group work:

I enjoy the creative process of designing and facilitating therapeutic groups in the following areas:
Problem gambling
Depression related to health issues
Change of life style such as migration
Life after separation
