Tamara Lovett

Tamara is a psychologist with nearly 20 years experience working with clients and families. She is a warm and compassionate practitioner who understands therapy is not ‘done to a person'. Instead it is a collaborative process where a practitioner works with a client empowering them to change their thinking or behaviours, subsequently making a positive impact on their life.

She is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and holds Associate Membership of the Clinical College. She is recognised with Beyond Blue and has Membership with a number of Professional Associations including the Anxiety Disorders Association of Victoria, Eating Disorders Victoria and The Australian Guidance Counsellors Association. Tamara holds full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Board as a Psychologist.

Tamara has extensive experience gained in private practice, government and private schools, public mental health and community agencies. As such, she works with a diverse population of clients who have a broad range of clinical presentations and mental health issues. Her areas of special interest include eating disorders, mood disorders, deliberate self harm and family relationship/marriage breakdown. She is happy to work in a shared care arrangements with other health professionals

Tamara's therapeutic practice is drawn from a range of approaches including- Solution Focussed Problem Solving, Cognitive-Behavioural Approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Therapy, Parenting Education, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Mindfulness & Positive Psychology. She also offers a range of psychological assessments including family assessments and cognitive and/or educational assessments.
