Joanne (Jo) Gniel

Counselling to create loving relationships and wellbeing.

I am passionate about helping create happy relationships. The interconnected nature of life means building healthy relationships is vital. Relationships help create a sense of meaning in life. While they connect us and can be enriching they also have the potential to present challenges. The focus of relationship counselling may be to:

-Nurture an existing couple relationship.
-Reflect on what is not working and needed to create a
meaningful relationship.
-Build authenticity, acceptance and healthy communication.
-Re-discover your sexuality.
-Navigate the transitions associated with parenthood and raising
-Develop the courage to explore the possibility of love.
-Find forgiveness and trust, to start a new relationship.
-Strengthen new or existing stepfamily relationships.

I also provide counselling and coaching focused on helping you discover your own unique values, strengths and resources and capacity to respond to the transitions of life in a more helpful way.

-Develop self-acceptance.
-Enhance your well-being.
-Clarify your direction and purpose.
-Identify the courage to pursue your ambitions and dreams.
-Navigate the transition to parenthood or raising children.
-Enhance family, couple or marital relationships.
-Cope with the diagnosis of illness.
-Navigate the ups and downs of life.

With tertiary qualifications in counselling and psychology my role is to help people thrive. I utilise a strengths based approach integrating Positive Psychology, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Mindfulness with other theoretical frameworks to facilitate meaningful change.
