| Lea RoseLea Rose is a Clinical Counsellor/Psychotherapist, with twenty years of professional counselling experience in supporting children and adults with a life threatening illness as well as providing support for their families. Lea has supported adults and children through major surgery, donor transplants, bone marrow transplants, chemotherapy, radiation, pain management and end of life care. Her clients have accessed both modern medical treatments as well as complementary medicines such as specialised diets, naturopathy, Chinese medicine, meditation and stress management. Regardless of the person’s chosen medical path, Lea offers genuine support and has a deep connection with all who come into her care.
Lea Rose began counselling adults and children with life threatening illnesses and supporting the dying in the mid 1990s. Firstly at the ‘Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne on the Oncology ward. Later her work moved to the ‘Gawler Foundation’ a cancer retreat centre in the Yarra Valley in Victoria. Throughout this time she had private practice for adults and children with life threatening illnesses with clients in all major hospitals in both Victoria and New South Wales. Following Lea’s work at the Gawler foundation Lea has been working in private practice as a counsellor to people and their families experiencing a life threatening illness. Lea is highly respected for her work and expertise in this area. She is also an educator and public speaker on living and dying.
Lea’s qualifications include: BA. Dip Ed; Adv. Dip. Counselling. Lea is registered Clinical Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the Victoria Federation of Counsellors (FVC). She is a registered civil celebrant for the Australian Government’s Attorney General's Department. Lea is the founder of the Living and Dying Well Counselling Centre and the author of the book ‘The Unspoken, the Truth About Death and Dying’, due to be released at the end of 2013.
